Market adds $15 billion, while BTC holds above $8,800

The crypto market cap gained $15 billion on the day, with Bitcoin spiking above the $8,800 price mark and altcoins such as Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, and Bitcoin Cash showing green candlesticks across the board.

With Bitcoin undergoing another sudden bull run that has boosted its price above the $8,800 price mark, the entire cryptocurrency market has recovered some of the losses it endured last week.
Most of the top 100 cryptocurrencies are up in value today but global trade volumes have decreased slightly, and is sitting at around $65,6 billion.
The total market capitalization has seen a decent gain of more than 15 billion on the day, and is currently sitting at around $264,4 billion, according to Tradingview.

The number one cryptocurrency profited as much as 4.9% today, to close well above the $8,800 price mark.
Crypto analyst and trader, Josh Rager suggested that Bitcoin has enough in the tank to retest the $8,900 level, given the fact that BTC is managing to trade above $8,000.
'Break and close above $8,948 is bullish', he tweeted.
