President Trump's staff are ‘misleading’ him on Bitcoin, says Caitlin Long
The now infamous bashing of Bitcoin offered by US president, Donald Trump,  has sent shockwaves around the cryptocurrency industry within the past few days with many divided as to whether these comments offer a step up for Bitcoin or a major blow.
For Long, however, irrespective of how the comments will impact Bitcoin, the crux of the matter was that they were plain wrong, and may actually be a sign that Trump is being misled…
Within a Tweetstorm replying to Trump’s tiny tantrum about cryptocurrencies, Long noted that Trumps staff was “misleading” him:
I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air. Unregulated Crypto Assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity....
1/ Mr President—, the state that gave you the highest margin of victory in 2016 (even bigger than Reagan), welcomes law-abiding companies & created a new type of bank charter to allow them to comply w/ the law. You are just wrong on this—ur staff is misleading you
503 people are talking about this
she qualifies the statement by suggesting that Trumps staff weren’t giving him good advice adding that none of them were experienced enough in the nascent asset class to give advice.
Offering her own sage wisdom, long highlights that the US payment system was “unstable, inefficient,” and “hasn’t really innovated in 50 yrs.”
Long also notes that it is far too late for cryptocurrencies to simply disappear, and warns that if the US “fights” the industry it will be bypassed by other countries that are welcoming it:

“Banks tried to shut down crypto by shunning the industry & look what happened—it didn’t die.”
In closing, Long pleaded with Trump to add some crypto experts to his advisers, adding that he needed a new perspective.
Long wasn't the only respondents to trump’s tirade, Coinbase CEO, Brain Armstrong, also relied, noting it as a momentous occasion:
